BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification

This course is for healthcare professionals who need Health Care Provider-level, “hands-on” CPR training and instruction on how to use an Automated External Defibrillator or “AED” for short. In Texas, hospitals and schools require this certification as it relates to many respective health and medical fields. Individuals such as doctors, nursing students, EMT professionals, and PA students are required to be certified in BLS before and during students’ school terms.

This course is an educational program endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA). Passing students will receive an electronic certification certificate (E-Card), endorsed by the American Heart Association. Additionally, students can apply to receive up to 4 hours of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for in-person learning credits to be applied toward their respective health-related fields. The course follows a “practice-while-learning” format where participants will practice hands-on CPR manikins as single-rescuer and multi-rescuer teams. Participants will practice CPR rescue scenarios for adults/children, and Infants, learn how to use a Bag Valve Mask resuscitator, and how to properly use an AED to shock a cardiac arrest patient. After the hands-on portion of the course, participants will take a written exam covering the key concepts learned in the course.

Students who have taken our BLS courses have a 95% passing rate on their first attempt so rest assured you are in good hands with our expert Instructors. They will give you the tools and key concepts needed to help you pass the course as long as you pay attention, participate, and are willing to learn!

The Course Covers:

– Adult, Child (1-12 years), and Infant (0-1 year) CPR
– Two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve mask
– Foreign-body airway obstruction (conscious and unconscious)
– Automated external defibrillation (includes child AED update)
– Special resuscitation situations
– Other cardiopulmonary emergencies
– Stroke and cardiac arrest

Pediatric First Aid Certification

In 2020, new laws were enacted in Texas and other U.S. states targeting the childcare industry. These include childcare providers, babysitters, preschools, camps, daycare centers, children’s hospitals, and others responsible for children who must be CPR/AED certified and also First Aid certified as well. Because these candidates had to specialize in children and infants, the AHA developed a program specific to this growing group of child caretakers — AHA Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid.
